The Grenadières controlled the match from start to finish, displaying their attacking firepower and defensive discipline. With this win, Haïti takes the lead in their qualifying group and strengthens their chances of earning a spot at the World Cup in Brazil. The team now looks ahead to tougher opponents as they continue their quest for a second consecutive appearance on football’s biggest stage.
(Le Floridien) — Haïti’s women’s national team delivered a commanding 9-0 victory over Belize on Sunday, a powerful start to their 2027 World Cup qualifying campaign. From the opening whistle, the Grenadières dominated possession, controlled the rhythm and relentlessly pressed, leaving little room for the Belize defense to breathe.
The scoring began early. Nerilia Mondesir opened the floodgates in the 12th minute, followed quickly by Batcheba Louis. Mondesir would add a second just six minutes later, giving Haïti a 3-0 lead before the first half had even reached its midpoint. A third from Mondesir and a strike from Roseline Eloissaint before halftime pushed the lead to 5-0 at the break.
In the second half the pressure never let up. Louis struck again early in the half, and Mondesir wrapped up her haul with a fourth goal around the hour mark. Veteran midfielder Melchie Dumornay sealed the rout with a penalty in the 78th minute and a final goal in stoppage time to complete the 9-0 scoreline.
The result not only underlines Haïti’s growing tactical maturity and depth, but sends a statement across the region: the Grenadières are aiming for more than mere participation — they are fighting to qualify for Brazil 2027.
This match was the first of a new qualifying cycle under coach Malou Quignette, who made several strategic changes to her starting eleven. Even with a retooled squad, the performance showed cohesion, sharpness and a ruthless attacking mindset. The team now sits atop their group with maximum points and a goal differential that could make a difference in tight standings.

For many supporters in Haiti — and across the Haitian diaspora — this victory offers a moment of pride and renewed optimism. After debuting on the world stage in 2023, the Grenadières now show they may not just return: they intend to compete.
But the road ahead is still challenging. Upcoming matches will bring tougher opposition and will test the team’s defensive stability and mental resilience. To reach Brazil 2027, consistency will be key — but if they approach every match with the same energy and spirit shown against Belize, the Grenadières may very well write a new chapter in Haitian football history.
Haïti is drawn into Group D for the 2025/26 CONCACAF W Qualifiers, alongside Dominican Republic women’s national football team, Suriname women’s national football team, Belize women’s national football team and Anguilla women’s national football team. Following the 9–0 victory over Belize, the Grenadières will next face Suriname on March 3, 2026, then Anguilla on April 9, 2026, before hosting the Dominican Republic on April 17, 2026.
Starting XI : French coach Malou Quignette announced the starting eleven for the match against Belize, with three changes from the last lineup against Haiti : Sherly Jeudy, Deborah Bien-Aimé, and Maudeline Mauryl were rested, while Claire Constant returned to the starting lineup, joined by Anyssa Ibrahim and Roseline Eloissaint. The formation was a 3-5-2.
