MIRAMAR, Fla. — Miramar Police are asking for the public’s help in locating Jerry Saint Vil, a 26-year-old man wanted on a murder charge following a fatal stabbing that claimed the life of another man at a Miramar gas station.
The deadly incident occurred Wednesday evening at the Mobil gas station located in the 16000 block of Miramar Parkway. According to investigators, what began as an altercation between two men quickly escalated into violence, ending when one of them was stabbed.
The victim, Teofilo Vargas, suffered critical injuries and was airlifted to a nearby trauma center for emergency treatment. Despite doctors’ efforts to save him, Vargas later died from his injuries.
On Friday, Miramar Police publicly identified Jerry Saint Vil as the suspect in the case and announced that he is wanted for murder. Detectives have not released details about what sparked the confrontation, and the investigation remains active.
Police Urge Community to Help Locate Suspect
Authorities emphasized that the incident involved only the suspect and the victim. No employees of the Mobil gas station were involved or injured during the altercation.
Court records from the Broward County Sheriff’s Office show that Saint Vil was arrested in May on burglary and trespassing charges. Police have not indicated whether those previous charges have any connection to the current homicide investigation.
As investigators continue gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses, they are asking anyone who may know Saint Vil’s whereabouts to come forward. Police caution the public not to approach the suspect but instead to contact law enforcement immediately.
Anyone with information is urged to call the Miramar Police Department at 954-602-4006 or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477). Anonymous tips are accepted.
The fatal stabbing has drawn attention across the Miramar community, where residents are hoping for a swift arrest as detectives work to determine what led to the deadly encounter.
