Melchie Daëlle Dumornay, affectionately known as “Corventina” or “Piti,” has become a symbol of pride for Haiti and one of the brightest stars in women’s football. Born on August 17, 2003, in Mirebalais, Haiti, she has risen from local pitches to the world stage with dazzling skill, remarkable statistics, and a drive that has now made her the first Haitian-born talent ever to be nominated for the Ballon d’Or Féminin.
Her journey began in Haiti with AS Tigresses, where at just 15 years old she recorded an extraordinary 25 goals in 9 matches, leading her team to the national championship and earning the league’s Best Player award. Her talent soon caught international attention, leading to her signing with French club Reims in 2021. In two seasons there, she netted 18 goals in 33 league appearances, making her one of the most impactful young midfielders in the French league.
In 2023, Dumornay took another leap forward by joining the powerhouse Olympique Lyonnais.
