PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — A 51-year-old Port St. Lucie man has been arrested after a 16-year-old relative accused him of sexually assaulting her multiple times inside the home where they were living, according to authorities.

The suspect, identified as Jean Emile Revange, faces three counts of sexual battery on a person between the ages of 12 and 17, according to an arrest affidavit cited by CBS12. He was arrested on September 27 and booked into the St. Lucie County Jail.

Another report citing court and jail records said his bond was set at $300,000.

Teen Reportedly Disclosed Allegations While Receiving Medical Care

The investigation began after the teenager sought medical treatment for severe abdominal and pelvic pain. During her medical care, she reportedly disclosed that Revange, described in the police report as her father’s cousin, had sexually assaulted her.

According to investigators, Revange, his wife, the teenager and other relatives were living in the same Port St. Lucie residence.

The teenager was later interviewed at a Children’s Advocacy Center. Authorities said she has cognitive and developmental limitations affecting her ability to communicate, prompting investigators to have a specially trained professional conduct the detailed interview.

According to the affidavit, the teenager described multiple alleged incidents occurring in different areas of the home. She was unable to provide exact dates for all of the alleged assaults.

Recorded Phone Call Becomes Key Part of Investigation

Investigators later arranged a controlled phone call between the teenager’s father and Revange.

According to the police account reported by CBS12, Revange initially denied the allegations but later allegedly made statements acknowledging that he had sexual contact with the teenager.

After his arrest, however, Revange reportedly denied the allegations again during an interview conducted in Haitian Creole. He allegedly told investigators that his earlier statements were made in an attempt to calm the teenager’s father.

Revange remains in the criminal justice process. The charges against him are allegations, and he is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
