North Miami, FL (Le Floridien) – Small business owners in Miami-Dade County’s District 2, including the Haitian-majority cities of North Miami and North Miami Beach, will soon have the opportunity to apply for financial support through the Small Business Grant program, which offers up to $10,000 per eligible business.
The initiative, funded annually by the Miami-Dade County Board of Commissioners, is designed to promote the growth and sustainability of small enterprises in District 2—particularly those operating in underserved or economically challenged communities. The office of Commissioner Marleine Bastien administers the program.
“This program is a critical tool to help local entrepreneurs stay afloat, expand, or invest in their communities,” Bastien’s office said in a press release shared with Le Floridien. “We are committed to ensuring that our small businesses, many of which are minority- and immigrant-owned, receive the support they need to thrive.”
The application process officially opens on May 27, 2025, and business owners have until June 10 to access the application materials. The submission window runs from June 12 to June 19, and applications must be delivered in person to the District 2 Office located at 915 NE 125th Street, Suite 2A, Miami, FL 33162.
No late or electronic submissions will be accepted. All applications must be completed, sealed in an envelope, and hand-delivered within the designated timeframe.
A mandatory informational workshop will take place on Thursday, June 5, at 6:00 p.m. at the Father Gerard Jean-Juste Community Center at Oak Grove Park, located at 690 NE 159th Street, North Miami, FL 33162. Attendance at this workshop is required for all applicants, as it will cover the eligibility criteria, required documentation, and strategies to strengthen their applications.
The Small Business Grant offers a rare opportunity for local business owners to access direct funding that can be used for a range of purposes, including covering operational costs, hiring staff, purchasing equipment, or upgrading infrastructure.
In a region where many small businesses continue to recover from the economic impacts of the pandemic and inflation, the grant stands as a lifeline for those looking to stabilize and grow.
For more information, business owners are encouraged to attend the mandatory workshop and prepare their materials in advance.
Le Floridien will continue to follow developments on this program and other initiatives supporting economic growth in Miami-Dade’s Haitian-American community.
