A Prestigious Recognition for a Haitian Community Figure
Founder, President, and CEO of MJD Wellness and Community Center, Inc., Fleurimont was recognized for her dedication to improving health access and community well-being, particularly within Miami-Dade’s Haitian population.
Her organization, headquartered in North Miami, has been instrumental in the last ten years in addressing health disparities and providing essential services to underserved communities. Her recognition highlights the growing influence and contribution of Haitian-American personalities in South Florida’s healthcare landscape.
A Dynamic Gathering of Health Leaders
The event, held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., began with an hour of networking, as attendees exchanged ideas and built professional connections, with wine and hors d’oeuvres, before moving into the ballroom for the official ceremony.
The program was emceed by Constance Jones, a two-time Emmy®-nominated journalist and anchor of NBC6 News Today, who warmly welcomed guests and set the tone for the afternoon.
She was followed by Dione Wong, Vice Chair of the Board of Directors, who greeted attendees and honored the selected awardees.
Loreen Chant, President and CEO of the Foundation, delivered opening remarks emphasizing the importance of recognizing women who are driving meaningful change in healthcare systems across South Florida.
At the heart of the Health Foundation of South Florida is a mission centered on action and equity. The organization seeks to invest in, and drive collaborations, policy reform, and systems change aimed at improving the health of South Florida communities, particularly among vulnerable low- to moderate-income populations. Its long-term vision is equally clear: to ensure that all South Floridians have an equal opportunity to achieve optimal health and well-being. That commitment was reflected throughout the event, as each honoree embodied the Foundation’s goal of building a healthier and more equitable future for all.
Celebrating Excellence in Healthcare
After lunch was served, the ceremony continued with a tribute led by Janisse Rosario Schoepp, who highlighted the achievements of the honorees.
Each of the ten award recipients was introduced individually, accompanied by a profile presentation and a pre-recorded video displayed on large screens, showcasing their contributions and impact. The audience responded with enthusiastic applause following each recognition.

The event concluded with closing remarks by Barbara Fonte, Chair of the Board, who congratulated the honorees and reinforced the Foundation’s mission to promote health equity across the region.
