By Joel Lorquet

The next edition of the Haiti Creative Mother’s Day & Haitian Heritage Marketplace will take place on Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3, 2026, at the new state-of-the-art Island TV studio, located in the heart of SOMA Noire at 7265 NW 74th Street, Unit 14, in Miami.

This event is becoming a must-attend highlight of Haitian Heritage Month in South Florida.

A Strategic Hub for Haitian Creative Commerce

The 2026 edition will showcase a carefully curated marketplace featuring a wide range of sectors, including fashion, crafts, beauty, home décor, and gastronomy. This initiative reinforces South Florida’s growing role as a strategic platform for Haitian creative commerce, connecting local talent and the diaspora to a dynamic international market.

Designed as both a cultural and commercial experience, the event offers attendees a unique opportunity to discover authentic and meaningful products. In celebration of Mother’s Day, visitors and shoppers will find original gifts that highlight Haitian craftsmanship while supporting artisans and entrepreneurs from Haiti and the diaspora.

An Initiative Led by Committed Partners

The marketplace is presented by the Danielle Saint-Lot Haiti Women’s Foundation (DSLF), in partnership with the Haitian American Chamber of Commerce of Florida (HACCOF) and SOMA Noire. This strategic collaboration reflects a shared commitment to strengthening Haitian entrepreneurship—particularly women-led initiatives—and expanding access to diaspora markets.

The partnership also aims to increase the visibility of Haitian creative industries and position the Marketplace as a leading platform connecting creators, entrepreneurs, and brands to economic opportunities in the United States during Haitian Heritage Month.

A Rich and Diverse Showcase

Attendees will discover a wide selection of products, including Haitian art, fashion, accessories, as well as beauty and wellness items. The marketplace will also feature a culinary showcase highlighting authentic flavors, with tastings of traditional specialties, including cassava-based products and other typical Haitian delicacies.

The event is also family-friendly, offering a welcoming atmosphere for all ages. Activities such as games, children’s books, and coloring workshops will be available, reinforcing the inclusive and community-oriented spirit of the fair.

Culture, Networking, and Community Engagement

Beyond its commercial dimension, the Marketplace serves as a space for networking and exchange among entrepreneurs, creatives, and enthusiasts of Haitian culture. It fosters collaboration and contributes to energizing the diaspora’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The Lorquet Foundation for a New Haiti (FOLONHA) will also be present with an exhibition and book signing featuring recent works by its founder-advisor, Joël Lorquet, adding an intellectual and literary dimension to the event.

A Call to Action

The public is invited to support this initiative by actively participating in this fair, which promises to be a powerful moment of celebration, promotion, and appreciation of Haitian heritage.

By bringing together culture, commerce, and community, the Haiti Creative Mother’s Day & Haitian Heritage Marketplace stands as a vital showcase of Haitian talent on the international stage.

Together, let’s elevate Haitian heritage and craftsmanship worldwide.
